Hands of Hope
Beyond the Backpack
The Back2School Project is a vital community initiative focused on assisting students in Prince George's County as they prepare for the upcoming academic year. The project aims to provide essential school supplies and resources to ensure that every child is ready for success in their studies.
This year, the project is collecting various items to support students. For younger students in grades K-5, standard bookbags will be provided, while those in grades 6-12 will receive clear bookbags, which are often required for safety reasons. In addition to bookbags, the initiative seeks to gather various school supplies, including composition notebooks, #2 pencils, crayons, and 3-inch binders.
Recognizing some families' financial challenges, the Back2School Project will also offer at least 25 gift cards for clothing and 25 for shoes, helping ease the burden of back-to-school shopping.
Hope 4 the holidays
Hope for the Holidays is a community-centered Christmas program that connects generous sponsors with families in need to help make the holiday season brighter and more joyful.
Through this program, each child receives at least one toy, one book, and one clothing item, while every adult in the household receives a gift card to help with their holiday needs.
Hands of Hope also partners with local organizations, businesses, churches, and community groups to expand our reach and provide support to even more families during the holiday season.
kiddie canvas club
Kiddie Canvas Club is a fun, creative experience designed to bring children and families together through art, laughter, and quality time.
At each themed event, every child receives a canvas, paint supplies, an apron, and a tote bag to personalize and take home. We also provide lunch so families can enjoy a complete and memorable experience together.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to join in on the fun and paint alongside their children, making Kiddie Canvas Club an opportunity for the whole family to create, connect, and make lasting memories.
Each event features a unique theme, giving children a new creative adventure to look forward to.
Registration is required, and an event fee applies. Space may be limited, so families are encouraged to register early.
Create. Explore. Paint. Make Memories.
Project: college bound
Project: College Bound is designed to help students take the next step toward higher education with the resources, support, and encouragement they need to prepare for college.
Through this program, eligible students can receive assistance with college application fees, helping remove some of the financial barriers associated with the college application process.
Students may also be invited to participate in our College Bound Trunk Party, where they can receive essential items and supplies to help them prepare for life in a college dorm.
In addition, the Hands of Hope Scholarship Fund provides eligible students with financial assistance that may be used toward college tuition, books, and other educational expenses.
Our goal is to help students feel prepared, supported, and confident as they transition from high school to higher education.
Preparing Students. Removing Barriers. Supporting Their Future.
